Eligibility of the job

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Some post-secondary education in an accredited cooking school is preferred.
  • Good written and oral English skills.
  • Thai food carving experience or willingness to learn.
  • Food Handlers Certificate required
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Punctual and committed to work schedules
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and shows initiative

Working conditions and physical capability:

  • Capable of lifting fifty pounds.
  • Works in close proximity to products containing seafood, shellfish, and nuts, such as peanuts.
  • Must be accustomed to the noise levels and temperature changes in a professional kitchen.
  • Near vision is generally required.
  • Can stand for extended periods of time (ability to stand for 5 hour intervals on an average shift of 10 hours).
  • Continuous limb coordination.
  • Hazards include equipment, mechanical tools, fire, steam, and hot and slippery surfaces.
  • Discomfort from temperature variations.

Responsibilities/roles 

  • Assist in preparing food in accordance with the menu standards and criteria established by the Company.
  • Prepares and cooks all meals according to specifications.
  • Adheres to all food handling, health, and safety regulations; notifies any harmful working circumstances.
  • Keeps prep and storage areas clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Capable of supporting all stations, including preparation, wok, and grilling.
  • Communicate and coordinate with coworkers and food servers to ensure that food service is efficient and timely, and that food quality fulfills customer and Chef expectations.
  • Contributes to a progressive work environment by making comments and ideas for how to improve our overall operations, and more.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety at all times.
